A while back when the Mr. and I were going for a wedding on a hot sunny afternoon,we decided to grab some ice-cream at Milano, a cute little Italian ice-cream parlor on Wabera Street. They have a wide array of ice-cream flavors including Snickerone which has peanuts. Being the huge peanut fan that he is, he immediately made a beeline for it.
The encounter prompted me to prepare a healthy peanut smoothie and share the recipe for all the peanut lovers as they keep the Nairobi heat at bay while still keeping it healthy. It only requires 5 ingredients and is both quick and easy to prepare. Enjoy!
3 Ripe Bananas
2 Tbsp Crunchy Peanut Butter
1 Cup Quick-Oats
1 Tsp Vanilla Essence
Chop your bananas, put all your ingredients in a blender, you can also add some ice cubes at this point and then blend away!
Garnish with some desiccated coconut and chocolate bars (Note: They will probably sink).
A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands 🙂
P.S: The smoothie is quite filling because of the oats and can therefore be used in a smoothie bowl.
