Healing in Wounds: Self-Growth Sunday

Happy New Month Loves! I happen to be such a huge sucker for new beginnings, hence my excitement for December. Anyway, I hope you have all had an amazing weekend.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has been participating in the 7 Days of Kindness Challenge + Giveaway that ends tomorrow. I will be announcing the winner on Wednesday, so be on the look-out for that post. πŸ™‚

I normally prepare the Self-Growth Sunday posts a bit in advance but I really didn’t know what to share today. So I figured we could do a bit of a story-time, right? You might want to get comfortable and grab a glass of wine.

Just the other day, I noticed that one of the beautiful ladies I follow was sharing posts that suggested that she was going through something. So when I participated in one of her polls, we ended up chatting, like we often have, and she shared what she was going through. Before we talked, I had been going through my own rough patch, a lot similar to hers. When we were talking, I realized that other people do find healing in your wounds. This is because I found some comfort in her encouragement and I believe that she found some in mine as well. We were able to help each other by showing each other our scars and by doing so, we were telling each other that it’s okay to have them.

Your greatest life messages and most effective ministry will come out of your deepest hurts. -Rick Warren

I am a recovering perfectionist and as I embrace my imperfections, I choose to use this Self-Growth Sunday series to share some of them. To show you my scars and share the lessons learnt. To remind you that you are not alone in whatever it is you are going through and to allow you to derive healing from my own wounds, even as you strive to become the best version of you.

So as we begin this new week, do not be afraid to show people who you really are. Perhaps your scars were placed there for the very reason of helping another. Also remember that you are more than enough, scars and all. Do have an amazing week and success to everyone who is doing their finals like I am! πŸ™‚
