Wined, Dined & Happy!

Hello loves! How is your week coming along? I won’t even start on how fast time is flying because it has become such a predictable intro by now! (Hides Face)

On Saturday, I got to attended a random hike organized by a fellow blogger, Sheila, at the Ngong Hills. Since I happen to be a very adventurous soul, I sent the poster to my best friend immediately I heard about the hike and told her to clear her schedule for that day. Since it was my first ever hike, I was up bright and early, grabbed some coffee and embarked on the great adventure! We paid Ksh.700/- to cater for the entry charges, snacks, food and water. We also had transport to and from the venue at a small additional cost. Feel free to follow Sheila on Instagram if you want to be in the know about other future excursions. πŸ™‚

The hike was nothing short of ah-mazing! Although it got to a point when we were in the middle of one of the hills and we started rethinking whether it was a good idea to have used the bushy route we had chosen instead of the easier and more defined one. However, once we got to the top, we were grateful for the experience & pain it took to get there.

Sheila, being the amazing host that she is, made sure that she carried a meko to warm our food for the picnic she had planned for after the hike. Being the wino that I am,I Β ensured that I carried with me 2 bottles of Asconi (one of my favorite dessert wines). So at the end of the day I was wined, dined and happy!

I remember pausing to take in the beautiful view while sipping my wine and thinking to myself, “Wow! Just wow! How could the same God who created such magnificent beauty think of me as deserving of all that He has given me?” Such beauty and serenity always fill my heart with gratitude for all the blessings bestowed upon me, including the wine I was drinking and the company I was with.

As you live through this week, may you remember to take time and pause; take in all you have and appreciate how far you have actually come. Life is sometimes so subtle that we barely notice ourselves walking through the doors we once prayed would open. Have a blessed week loves! πŸ™‚
