I Hope You Dance!

Happy Saturday loves! How has your week been? One of my sisters and I were talking about work and life and how easy it is to constantly be on the move. So I am learning how to intentionally decide to slow down and catch my breath. 🙂

I forgot my book in an Uber (Yep! That’s how fast paced life sometimes gets), forcing me to go back to my bookshelf and seek a temporary read as I wait for the driver to send back the book. I picked out “What I know for Sure” by Oprah, which happens to be one of those reads that will always give you some much needed insights. And true to it’s nature, it did. Less than 5 pages into the book and I got my reminder:

If you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance! 🙂

Remember the blogpost I shared a few months back talking about how I would love to share tips on how I care for my hair? Well, I did the big chop this week. Not necessarily for any particular reason, but because I felt that was what me and my hair needed. I did something I had never thought of doing. I used to think that most women just cut their hair after a break up but my own experience taught me life isn’t really that black and white.

Most of my friends thought I was crazy or joking or both when I gave them an advanced notice that I would be cutting my hair. And while I sat there, drinking my tea and watching the hairdresser cut my hair, I felt lighter. Like I was done sitting it out and finally dancing. 🙂

And it is my hope that you also decide to finally dance. Sign up for that yoga class, break up with that friend you don’t like but are scared of their resentment, book the solo trip, go for the concert, try out the restaurant even if no one is able to find time to go with you, buy the shoes, start the business.

This is what I know for sure: Your journey begins with a choice to get up, step out and live fully! Oprah Winfrey

Wishing you all an incredible weekend loves! 🙂
